In 1783 Saxone Shoe founded the Saxone of Scotland in Kilmarnock. In a few years Saxone becomes synonymous with high quality thanks to the manufacture of its footwear, as well as a reference point for the best shops in the whole of Great Britain. Today Saxone belongs to the Barrats Corporation London group, and its first distribution partner in Europe was, in 1947, Bennati Import Srl of Genoa. In this way an important collaboration between Great Britain and Italy begins. All Saxone shoes are hand sewn in Northampton by the master craftsmen of Barker Shoes Ltd with Goodyear workmanship. This technique allows the sole to be detached from the bottom in case of repair, so that it can be replaced giving new life to the shoe. At the beginning of 2002 Saxone Italia was renewed introducing the black welt stitching, giving everyone the opportunity to buy an English shoe. Saxone is synonymous with tradition, but also with innovation: there is a new interpretation of the classic English shoe that Saxone renews by combining Italian style and comfort with the British tradition.
